Iranian Presidents Visit to Lebanon; Afro-Persian Music: Shanbehzadeh Ensemble

This week, we’ll have a conversation with University Urbana Chamgaigne sociologist Asef Bayat and Lebanese historian and political scientist professor Fawwaz Traboulsi, about the significance of Iranian president Ahmadinejad’s visit to Lebanon for both countries and for the region in general.

Later in the program, will have a conversation with Saeed Shanbehzadeh leader of the Shanbehzadeh Ensemble about the traditional music and dance of Bushehr, a city located in the South Western part of Iran in the Persian Gulf. They will be playing at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco this Saturday night.
